The Hanns Seidel Foundation

The Hanns Seidel Foundation (HSF) opened an office in South Africa in 1991 to support the peaceful transition of the country towards an all-inclusive, non-racial democratic society. Today, the HSF has offices in Cape Town and Johannesburg. The Foundation, funded by the German Government, is committed to the promotion of the fundamental values of the South African Constitution by supporting educational initiatives and research projects and partnering with key south African public and civic organisations.

The Situation

The Hanns Seidel Foundation required assistance with the conversion of their existing e-mailers into interactive pdfs.

Search for a Solution

Inspired Publications was approached to convert HSF’s e-mail newsletters into interactive pdfs, which could be distributed via WhatsApp. Inspired Publications was also asked to create a redirect page which would direct South African web users to the international Hanns Seidel Foundation website.

Objective:

Convert existing e-mail newsletters into fully interactive pdfs, with functional links and multimedia capabilities.

Desired outcome:

An engaging and functional way to reach those members of the HSF database who prefer to be contacted via WhatsApp.

What we did

Inspired Publications provided the following services:

  1. Converted HSF e-mail newsletters into interactive pdfs for distribution via WhatsApp.
  2. Ensured that all links and digital elements of the pdfs were active and functional.
  3. Created a redirect page that directs South African users of the HSF website (hsf.co.za) to the South African page of the international HSF website (https://southafrica.hss.de)

The Result

The interactive pdfs have proved highly successful at engaging with HSF’s WhatsApp audience and provide an innovative way to reach users whose e-mail inboxes are filled with unread messages.
